We talk a lot about “360 recruiters”.

But not all 360s are built the same.

There’s a big difference between:

  • Someone who can run a process
    vs
  • Someone who can genuinely own and drive a search

A true search operator will:

  • Build a market map from scratch
  • Engage passive candidates effectively
  • Position a role commercially (not just read a JD)
  • Manage stakeholders on both sides
  • Navigate objections and close

Whereas others are more process-driven:

  • Working live roles
  • Relying on inbound or existing networks
  • Less comfortable creating opportunities

Neither is “bad” – but they are very different profiles.

The issue is when businesses think they’re hiring one… and get the other.

Clarity on this upfront saves a lot of pain later.
